Plan A Visit North of the Border

No, we're not talking about Canada (not that there's anything wrong with that).  We're talking about San Diego, just north of that other border.  The weather is the San Diego area is regularly judged as the year-around best in the U.S. and there's no better time to find out for yourself than with a wintertime vacation to San Diego.  Here are some of this week's top San Diego hotel deals:

More Celebrity Solstice

The Celebrity Solstice, which launches in December, is attracting a lot of attention. Last week w reported on some of the ship's menities, including the unusual "Lawn Club." Now Celebrity has uveiled the plans for restaurants onboard, and it's impressive.

The Solstice will feature 10 dining venues. Adam Tihany, a famous estaurant and hotel designer, has designed the ship's Grand Epernay dining room, the Tuscan Grille steakhouse, and the casual Oceanview Cafe on the lido deck. Other options include Silk Harvest (exotic Asian), Blu (for AquaClass passengers), Murano (Continental cuisine), Bistro on Five (crepes and sandwiches), Cafe al Bacio (coffeehouse), AquaSpa Cafe (quick light fare), and the Mast Grill (comfort food poolside). Sounds good, let's eat.

It's still only early February...

...so you can be pretty sure that this past week's warmer (and, unfortunately, in someplaces violent) weather doesn't mean we're "out of the woods" yet.  When you're sitting at home shivering in March you may wish that you'd planned a mid-winter escape to someplace warm like Miami, Orlando, Cabo San Lucas or Phoenix.  You'll find great deals on hotels at these - and many more great getaway destinations - at TheRealPlaces.com.
