New Carnival Breeze

Carnival Cruise Line's new Carnival Breeze departs from Venice (Italy) on its inaugural cruise this Sunday, June 3. Following a summer schedule of 12-day Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona that runs through October 25, Carnival Breeze will reposition to Miami for year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises beginning November 24, becoming Carnival's' largest South Florida-based ship. Special features of the ship include the Thrill Theater (multi-dimensional special effects), WaterWorks water park, SportSquare recreation area, Bonsai Sushi restaurant, and Fat Jimmy's BBQ restaurant.


This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The Best Western Premier Saratoga Resort Villas recently did a major renovation and is now available for reservations at TheRealPlaces.com.  Their 133 villas have 2 or 3 bedrooms, two TVs, free WiFi, full kitchens and private balconies.  Located on West Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee, Florida, a couple of miles southeast of all the Disney World attractions.

 

The Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida recently debuted a renovated lobby and guest rooms.  Now they have a "Grand Slam Baseball Getaway" package that includes accommodations, breakfast, transportation to and from a Tampa Bay Rays game and a "spectator survival kit".  Good deal for Rays fans - and fans of their American League opponents thinking about a road trip.
