Featured City of the Week: Dallas, Texas
|
Believe it or not, there's more to Dallas than the ridiculously busy airport on the west side of town.
Downtown Dallas is the economic heart of the huge Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
The
Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center covers several downtown blocks and comprises over 1,000,000 square feet of exhibit space.
On the north side of downtown is
American Airlines Center,
home of the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars.
Southern Methodist University (SMU)
and the George W. Bush Presidential Library are about five miles north of downtown.
The Dallas Cowboys and
the Texas Rangers both play in the "in-between" city of Arlington, south of the airport and between Dallas and Fort Worth.

Holiday Cruises
|
Holiday cruises are a good way to celebrate with the whole family while leaving the cooking and cleaning to someone else. They are available from many ports, but let's look at the ones departing from Tampa.
Six Christmas cruises depart from Tampa on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Holland America cruise lines. Five go to the Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatan Island, Grand Cayman, etc) and one is to the Bahamas. Sun on scenic beaches and snorkel gorgeous coral reefs. Then enjoy the ship's holiday decorations and feasts.
All six New Year's cruises go to the exotic Western Caribbean. Eat, drink and get crazy at the big New Year's Eve parties onboard.
