If we were asked "What's the oldest capital city in the United States?", most of us would probably think of something along the East Coast. But Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico, began as a Spanish colony over 400 years ago. In addition to being the hub of the state government, the city has become a major center for the appreciation of culture and art.
The climate and geography and architecture of the area has made it a popular home for artists. If you're the kind of person who enjoys perusing art galleries, you'll find a multitude of places here devoted to displaying paintings, sculpture and other forms of artistic expression.
